2002 TDI--Stopping Squeeks and Groans from suspension
My 2002 TDI has begun to develop noisy squeeks and groans apparently from the front suspension. Spraying the rubber and plastic bushings with the likes of WD-40 have not stopped the problem. Any one with experience or suggestions?

they do that. spraying wd40 on rubber will increase rate of deterioration.

My '02 NB, 106K miles, is doing the same thing.

Story I have heard here is that the stocks suspension begins to be clapped out around 80K miles. Replacement shocks/struts at the local NTB was quoted at around $500?????, IIRC. Might have been less, need to look that up. Need to get that done.

But there are some better suspension parts out there folks here like - time to research this whole area of my car.

Worn Sway bar bushings.
Not sure where to lube them. I'm just getting mine replaced in mid Oct by Drivbiwire, along with some Bilstein TC's he'll be putting on, and a 2" lift kit.
