Trying to figure out my cold start issue.
+5 Celsius and below is harder starting.
-10 it probably wouldn’t start unless I really let the starter have it.
Tried unplugging coolant temp sensor to see if the light would stay on longer. It didn’t and didn’t help the starting at all.

What’s the next steps? What does that mean that the unplugging the sensor didn’t do anything?

so many questions:

1. there was a recall back around 2008 for glow plugs, did this car ever have that recall work done?
2. is the coolant temp sensor working right, does the temp needle even move, or is it erratic?
3. as JB05 says, find someone close to you (there is a list in this website) with VCDS, that can help you read stored codes, even if your check engine light (CEL) is not on there are plenty of error codes that get stored without prompting a CEL
