Didn't drain anything!!! Did you clean out the aluminium pieces from the pipes, including the pipe between the air filter and the turbo? Mine is still in the middle of turbo replacement and at leat 1.5L of oil drained out at the intake side of the intercooler. There will be more because the car is jacked up on the passanfer side. Also, as said above, the exhaust is still full too and that will take time to burn off.

I'm about to pull mine but when I had the bumper cover off for a timing belt change, the intercooler looked prety accessible.
