Offset of 40 seems like it might be a little shallow for clearance over the calipers. I am by no means an expert on this though. Might want to go to the wheel and tire forum over at the vwvortex for a quick answer.

My bad. VW standard offset is 35, so these will actually be 5mm further out that your currents. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Oh, and they look nice, particularly for the price. Only real question is how durable they'll be.
