Steering column bearing

Does this bearing should be greased? Mine is like this one, almost dry. :eek:

If I recall correctly, I did lube mine with wheel bearing grease. Although it only takes a very small amount. This is not a load carrying bearing.

Yeah, but no matter it is or it is not a load carrying bearing, I'm planning to grease it with the same wheel bearing grease. I'll do it with a small 5 ml syringe (no needle) filled with grease. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I did use a 5ml syringe.

Any pictures of removing/installing the steering column?
Is there another bearing beside this one visible on the pic?

98 Jetta TDI AHU 1.9L (944 TDI swap in progress) I moved so now i got nothing but an AHU in a garage on a pallet.
dont use any liquid or wet material on dry bearings or open bearings, it attracts dirt, wd-40 is the wort thing you can ever use on moving parts.

garage door lube is really good, sprays on wet and drys leaving only a thin amount of silicon or graphite depending on the product and will not attract dirt. Granted that bearing is clean after 200K miles i am assuming so its probably no big deal but just my 2 cents worth of useless advice.
