Minor Help Needed

2015 Passat SEL. I do all my own maintenance, oil changes, etc. Live on a ranch that is 2 hours from the nearest VW Dealer. What does "Inspection Now" mean?? Can't find it in owners manual.
Speaking of manuals, what is the recommended complete shop guide for the TDI? And possibly the Parts Manual.

The computer tracks time and miles since the VW dealer did and inspection. Most of the time it is 40,000 miles.
My Touareg can be reset from the same point as the oil change on the RNS850 service tab.
Look in the manual or google it to reset the inspection or pay the bucks for the VW dealer to inspect the car.
Personally I reset my own.

If you are doing your own work you should get a VCDS, especially being out on a ranch. Do you have an owners manual? If you don't I would look for one of those as well. The emissions warranty doc is also nice to have. There is also an engine document that explains how everything works floating around here.

In the PASSAT much like my Touareg - there are two service counters (one for minor service intervals - like oil changes) and the Major service counter for your major service intervals - the more thorough list...

The minor service interval is user resettable - while the other requires VAG-COM or a compatible VW ODB2 reader that will support service interval resets.

VCDS from https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com is the ticket as you can turn them off with it. And also know exactly what is causing the Service Now
