Some articles talk about the slow/sluggish steering at low speeds due to lack of EPS. Is this true?

The TDI has EPS. It is weighted perfectly. The 2.5 has an old school pump and rack.

If it has steering issues, I've been ignorant of them... Just did 1200 miles on all kinds of mountain and canyon roads, highways and interstate, and the steering input felt great to me. Gotta drive in the mountains to get to the great mountain biking trails in Nevada and California.

Driving a nice sporty back road loop today, I noticed the steering and brakes being over-assisted. That said, it's not a sports car and it's fine.
