B5.5 Passat 6 speed manual trans swap

All the GGBs I have installed have come already fitted with the sensor.

Did they make any improvements with the newer GGB? Better syncros...stronger gears...ect?

I am also in the final stages of converting my 2005 Passat 2.0 BHW PD car to a 5 speed manual out of a V6 gasser . All is going good now I am stumped on the Coding problems. I have the Hex Can vag Com cable and tried the 09577 code and no luck. I tried 02468 and a few others I found on the internet no luck . My ECM will not accept my Login codes , any more suggestions ? 09577 should have worked...

Did you reflash the ECM first?

Passat W8 6sp manual

I was in a pretty bad accident on Jan 6th with our W8, total loss...we're ok tho. My question is what else will the 6sp mt work in with little modding...I'll be parting the car out very soon...thanks for any info.

Its about 2500 for parts for the 5spd conversion. Frans on here sells a complete swap kit. You will also need ECU tune.

6spd conversion in considerable more expensive.

When I checked, the complete 5 speed set was €1350 with used DMF and new Sachs clutch. The same set but with new single mass flywheel kit was €1500. Prices include shipment to the USA. Frans only sells rebuilt 6 speeds because of known problems with the diff bearings. The price for a 6 speed swap with rebuilt gearbox with improved bearings was €2300 including shipment.

The dollar is pretty strong vs. the euro right now, so you're looking at ~$1,500.00, $1,625.00 and $2,500.00 respectively.

Depends on where you get the 6spd, and if you need to replace the pinion bearing.

Factor about $2k for all the parts - turn key, less if you are willing to hunt for some of the bits. The only part you can't get here is the euro geared transmission.

5 spd swaps are cheaper, and don't have the same issues with pinion bearings.

unfortunately its just available in europe
i have done some resarch and i think this model its just swap the parts
its a HCF transmission
i apologies if im not correct, but i dont have much experience in this field

Are you looking to swap the AWD drivetrain, or locate a 2WD transmission?

im looking to get my 2WD passat from automatic to standard
so far that seems the only car with the 8v longitudinal engine which is a BPW if im not wrong

Off topic, but I finally took a decent road trip in my B5 with the 6 speed swap and I averaged 44.3 mpg over 1200 miles. I'm sure I could've gotten better results if I had tried, but I don't like to drive slow.
