No, we've had many elections and there is rarely if ever any kind of short-term shift in fuel demand.Originally Posted by TornadoRed

The election?
And if that wasn't enough, throw in the fact that I have to drive all over creation the next 2 weeks, that will ensure that prices jump. Just like they did when I bought the car! With the current turmoil in the Middle East, I anticipate fuel prices going up anywhere between 10 and 25 cents within the next week or two.
Miles per dollar get them every time. M/$: 20mpg divided by $3.51 gives 5.7 miles per dollar on RUG. 40mpg divided by 3.69 is 10.8mi./$... for .18 more you get DOUBLE the range/$. for a RUG car to match 10.8, it would have to get 38.04mpg.Still $3.69 in Lake Wylie as of last night. Rug was $3.51. At 18 cents difference, it is easier to show others how these new diesels save money at the pump.
Cents per mile is a lot easier to figure and to compare.Miles per dollar get them every time. M/$: 20mpg divided by $3.51 gives 5.7 miles per dollar on RUG. 40mpg divided by 3.69 is 10.8mi./$... for .18 more you get DOUBLE the range/$. for a RUG car to match 10.8, it would have to get 38.04mpg.
The price has definitely jumped since the last time almost two weeks ago. Now its $4.19This morning around 9am, it was $3.999 here in Miami, Florida. Almost as cheap as regular!
At that price, you're paying about 11 cents a mile to drive your TDI. Most American drivers are paying 15 to 30 cents a mile. So what are you complaining about?$4.45 at a local Arco - Santa Clara, CA. This thread makes me glad I started riding the bus.
You have a good point, but let me put it in context- when you're an unemployed college student spending $0 still beats 11 cents per mileAt that price, you're paying about 11 cents a mile to drive your TDI. Most American drivers are paying 15 to 30 cents a mile. So what are you complaining about?
So the bus is free? That's a great deal if it's convienent. You have a good point, but let me put it in context- when you're an unemployed college student spending $0 still beats 11 cents per mile
