Just picked up a 2015 Passat TDI with DSG. 115000kms.

I only hear it while accelerating from a dead stop.
There is a bit of a 'rrrr' or 'grrr' sound from the left side of the engine compartment. Only lasts for a couple seconds. More pronounced when cold.

The tranny seems to operate normally. No codes.

Is this normal or is it pointing to a possible tranny problem?

passengers side or the drivers side?

The abs controller is next to the DPF on the passengers side fire wall, not sure if it'd be cycling under normal acceleration thou.

It on the drivers side. Quite subtle. Seems speed dependent. Only from a stop in first gear under light throttle at low speed.
