I just bought a brand new s300v how will it be on the 3.0tdi i got it for very cheap so i wont be upset how it spools the car is gonna be a daily driver

Nice! What version? 56mm inducer (S356V) can be quite daily friendly in 3.0 TDI. I think it spools 2000rpm and makes full boost somewhere 2200-2400.

The model number is RE534514 from a 6.8l john deere i have not received the turbo yet to confirm the measurements and i dont know much about these turbos to make a guess. Its hard to believe that large of turbo on a 3.0 will spool that quick ..

Probably you hard time to find room for the installation but sounds definitely nice project.

thats a picture of the actual turbo. yucca can you confirm if this is a 56 or 59mm
whats the difference between a s300v and a s356v

Usually that means just comp inducer size. S356 means 56mm inducer and s360 means 60mm inducer etc.

S300V is official name for that turbo. 56mm inducer version nickname is S356V. That 56mm wheel profile is from S200 -series. Bigger compressor wheels use real S300 profile (80mm ETT vs. 88mm ETT).

S356V can make 3.6bar boost @ 3600rpm (1.9liter engine). So i think that spool must be much much sooner in 3.0TDI.

I think that is S356V version, S360 is from bigger engine.

Same 62/69.5mm turbine wheel. Turbine housing is also interchangeable, S356V use T3/T4 housing and S360V T4 housing.

S356V compressor wheel use 76/80ETT compressor exducer and S360V something like 85/88ETT.

Somewere you mentioned the turbine was 62/69.5 was that a typo ? Also im not familiar with ETT whats that ?

I think that in 70DAR12 turbine 70 refers to OD.

might be a bit optimistic if you see S200v reaches full boost (2.6-2.7 bar) only around 3000 rpm on V6 (56mm turbine exducer)

I was thinking the same :( but how does ryanp make 70psi boost in neutral unloaded with a s356v on 2.0 4cyl ?? I understand he revs it to 6000rpm but engine load in a diesel has a significant role in turbo spool as well

Is this with nitrous to . I plan on losing a bit spool to gain it up top its expected

No nitrous.

It spool like that with gears 4-6. Spool is slower when using small gears, not enough load.

you can do some fun things with injection timing, lots of retard will put a lot of heat out the exhaust, as well as reducing engine output, so you can put more fuel in without over-revving the motor
