Anyone know anything about "V-DUBBS" shop in innisfil?

I Drive past this place a lot. Seems the guy has a shop/garage in his backyard etc. Located just east of the hwy400 on Innisfil beach sidrd...

Believe the sign on lawn says "V-DUBBS, volkswagen specialist" or something to that effect.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of or has any experience with them.

(not sure if it was mentioned here before or not)

I've heard of it too, but never known anyone to actually go to him. I wouldn't want to be the first guy to go get TB service done there.

I've already got my own "VDUB" mechanic anyway

V-Dubbs review

I've been twice now to visit Mike's shop on Innisfil Beach Rd - excellent customer service, very thorough, very fair pricing. He knows his stuff.

I had been struggling for more than two years with an issue with my turbo failing while accelerating (around 110 km/hr); but it would always reset itself when I shut the car off & restarted. I wouldn't accept many mechanics' suggestions to replace sensors or the turbo itself at @$1,500-$1,800, my opinion was that if it was a mechanical fault, it would always be broken, not just occasional failure. Mike diagnosed this as a waste gate issue, and fixed it for a mere fraction of all the quotes. He also gave me lists of 'must fix soon' and 'will need to be addressed eventually' to consider for future repair. Timing belt/water pump are scheduled to be done by Mike this week.

V-Dubbs is a professionally-run, clean shop, Mike is very straight forward, and I highly recommend you pay a visit and just chat with him. He knows his stuff.

I agree good dude. I had another post about him somewhere.

I remember a post about that shop, apparently they replace good turbos for seized vein problem.Not so cool.

Please don't take offense, but you're pretty new around here (2 posts that I could see). Unless you have direct knowledge of a poor work being done or can bring up a thread to backup your claims, it is probably best to refrain from commenting. Innisfil isn't convenient for me and I've not used V-Dubbs myself but figure he deserves the chance to earn respect and a reputation here just like everyone else.

Probably not new person, just new account.

Just had the 30k service on my 2010 done there last week. Stocks the right parts, does the job well. Half the price of dealer service for a better mechanic? Yes please.

V-dubbs

Yes . . He's been my mechanic for quite a few years now. Excellent! I went to him initially because he was referred to me by 2 guys on 2 different occasions as being very conscientious AND I was tired of being ripped off by the Dealerships and Joe Blow mechanic. I told him up front that I was looking for an honest, no BS mechanic. I must say, whenever I have had to take my car in, he has always kept the old parts for me to see after he's fixed something, he's usually been able to give me some options if I've had a thin budget and prioritizes well if there have been a few things I've needed done. His garage is immaculate and well organized and he's real convenient as he's right off the highway. I will stay with him as long as this great service exists. Nice to find a guy who does great work, is reasonable and honest ~ hope this helps you : )
