Valve Cover Bolts

My Passat has 253K miles and I am replacing the valve cover gasket (along with tandem pump gasket) in hopes of solving an oil leak problem.

My question ... Should I also replace the 13 valve cover bolts since they also have a rubber gasket on them?

My TDI mechanic friend says no ... what do you say?

I just replaced valve cover gasket and reused bolt gaskets. Seems fine so far.
