2003 Jetta TDI Wgn Snow Screen?

I have a 2003 Jetta TDI GL Wagon 5-speed that was manfucatured Aug. 2002.
I have heard somewhere on this website that the 2003's do not have the snow
screen in the air filtering system.

I have not checked my car yet and the air filter change is not due for about 24,000 mi.

Does anyone know if this is a fact? If this is true what did VW use as an
alternative to the snow screen.

Some do, some don't. At a GTG a few months ago there were 4 wagons there (all from Germany).

Three had the snow screens while one didn't. Mine has one and another wagon built in the same month did not come with one. I don't think you'll know till you have a look.
