Horrible timing, but I'm trying to register a 2012 Passat in California and this his will require passing emissions testing. I have an error code: P2200 NOX sensor bank 1, sensor 1.
The code has been present for about a week and will set the CEL within 100 miles or so, which is much sooner than the readiness monitors will set.
As a preventative measure, I had the 23T3 electrical connector recall performed yesterday and reset ECU but error still persists.
I've read thru pages of complaints regarding this error, but I have yet to find a "how-to" for cleaning or replacing the sensor.
The timing of all of this could not be worse. Bottom line is that I will need to register this vehicle in CA and passing a smog inspection is mandatory.
Does anyone happen to have pictures, links or tips that might help with a DIY repair?
