215/70R15 tires?

anybody tried putting 215/70R15 tires on a 2003 Jetta?
I know 205/70R15 will fit because I put them on my 03 golf. dropped 100 rpm at 55 and added 2.5 mpg.

Are either car lifted? If memory serves me correct the 215/70/15 is nearly 3 inches taller than stock.

Stock is 195/60/15. Which is 24.2 inches.

Im pretty sure stock 15"s are 195/65/15 which are 25"

so, im running 205-75-15 on my currently unlifted but soon lifted Golf.
i rub on bumps and sharp turns like uturns. also occasionally catches the inside lip of fender, needs a rolled fender to run them well, and no plastic wheel well.

i think 215 may be too wide to run on stock, and i am unsure if its too wide or not for a lifted car.

How far are your 205 75 15 from strut's spring seat? Is there room for additional 1/4"
