Hi,
I have a 2003 Jetta Tdi without Monsoon or CD changer, I am guessing it is a double din (it has a CD player on the top and tape player in the middle, taking up twice as much space as a single din?)
Since so many people are installing after market radios and amps, I am thinking about buying a cheap Monsoon Amp and upgrade my non-Monsoon system. Is it possible?
I understand that I can recode my head unit into Monsoon by using VAG-COM, which I bought a cable off eBay and downloaded the program.
And also what kind of wiring am I missing, do I have to run the missing wiring from the dash or is there anywhere I can plug it in from within the trunk?
Final question, is it even worth it? My buddy's old car had a Monsoon and he said it sounds awesome
