I did my ventectomy
this weekend - I finally HAD to refuel last night (the damn light came on)- at the pump, I hit the fuel door button, heard the solenoid fire -
NADA, door wouldn't open, the cylynder didn't move (5 tries) - finally jimmied it open w/ a screwdriver
(that hurt me as much as the fuel door, which got a paint chip
taken out of it) popped the lock bar off the fuel door (gluable?) - didn't have a chance to look at the cylinder area yet, could I just have misaligned the lock during replacement?

Any help - even the comments like "dumb@$$" - would be appreciated.

Dude-
we tried yours afterwards and it worked!
I must have done something really stupid
and boneheaded
on mine (par for me). Maybe I should have the vinegar and baking soda car instead of the Golf.....
