i did a search on this tire, but came up with few results. does anyone here have any experience with these tires on a VW? i'm looking to replace my original Michelin tires on my '03 Jetta. not looking to spend 140 bucks a tire for the Michelins and only get 35-40 thousand miles out of them like i did the OEM tires.

i do drive agressively at times and at other times i tow a small tent trailer. i'm looking for experienced opinions or recommendations on the Firestone and any other reasonably priced tire.

They are a fine tire for the lighter VW's you'll like them as they are quiet and wear well. Good winter traction. We used them on a 92 325i for 50K before we sold it.

i read some reviews on tirerack.com that these tires are hard to keep balanced. did you have any problems?

I had a set of these tires (205-55-R15) on a PT Cruiser and I liked them. They did not require a lot of balance weights (and stayed balanced).
