"Old dates" on VCDS Freeze Frame data blocks

I am running VCDS ver.15.7.4.1(x64) on a newly set up laptop.
I got some faults found while checking a persistent CEL.
My question at this point is the tests were run on April 19, 2016. The date on the Freeze Frame Fault Code printouts is May 7, 2010.
The mileage readings on the Freeze Frame is appropriate to the current date.
Can someone tell me where this old date coming from? I didn't own the car back in 2010.
Thanks.

Thanks.
The mileages are not all the same but most are in 2010.
I couldn't believe I had had faults like these for several years!
I am afraid, however, this is going to be the first of many post in the near future. I have some probably expensive faults that showed up, but are now NOT showing up.

1) Your car does not actually know what the date is. These dates in VCDS are often wildly wrong.
2) I moved this thread into the ODB scanner forum in the hopes that a Ross-Tech employee will see it and add some useful information about these "dates".

Have Fun!

On Audis the dates seem to be correct. They correspond to the date set by the driver in the instrument cluster.
VW does not have date setting in the instrument cluster. Just time.

... None :S
I have to wonder if this is something the factory scan tool can do  After our Passat was reflashed for the turbo warmup recall the date was more correct.

Just a WAG, but I suspect the dates are when the software was written or flashed to the ECU.
