I think the rule of thumb is that anything over 220ish hp is where lower end upgrades become mandatory. Someone much more versed will chime in though.

The usually indication of needing to change to ARP studs for head and bottom end changes like a steel girdle for the block is boost around 40 psi.

My setup will be 2260, camshaft 272°, firad 120, map 4bar, fmic 700x300, oil and fuel cooler, smf kit
2.5bar and around 340-350 hp
Original rods can hold that power? I'm afraid of that, of cracking rods

Hello!
This is a great project!
402 m time?
(Garrett 2260v is not capable 350-400hp)

Yes your engine can handle 350hp on stock block without any problem, your only problem is the Turbo. To achieve that level of power with this turbo you must go Hybrid with a bigger billet compressor wheel

I think that is capable for 340-350hp, because friend has 310hp with that turbo on original camshaft at 2.5bar, and i will have bigger nozzles and 272° camshaft so i think i sould be around 350hp... If won't than i need a hybrid turbo
And if i go to hybrid turbo, i wan't rosten rods and porting head to be closer to 400hp

This is graf from friend who has 80%+ firad and original camshaft

@micar >before with 250hp (only kkk bv50 3.0tdi) time was 13.63 on 402m, but we in croatia have very bad racetracks with very low grip, with these new power i hope so to get in 13.00 time

Are we talking 350hp at the crank or at the wheels? To get 350hp at the crank (as most European dynos will calculate back to) it is very possible the head gasket wouldn't survive. I would go with head studs at the very least. Beyond that, it is probably a situation of being on borrowed time as you will likely break a piston or bend/break a rod eventually.

350bhp requires over 40lbs/min of air. GTB2260VK will choke way before that no matter what camshaft or whatever breathing mods you do

300bhp indeed, you friend with 310hp must have a very smokey tune to cram those last 10hp out of it or dyno correction is slighlty off. On a commonrail you could have gotten more from it

at 350bhp you will need water and NOS injection and I'm still not sure if the EGT won't kill the turbo... I guess you must have done good head porting etc... still on 8V head this is crazy... install good EGT gauge I'm telling you...

A 1.9tdi 8v will be no fun at 350hp with all the lag from one big turbo. 350hp is going to require rods and why do rods without good pistons. That 310hp motor will be short lived.

Is it worth me going any further with my mods? 283hp and stock internals apart from darkside cam. My plan was a n2o set up for next year and maybe a big valve head?

What about head gasket? thicker or thin head gaskets...

I don't know what you are doing with cars, but here in croatia is a lot of cars with stock tdi engine with 300+hp and they drive every day and making a lot of miles without any problems...
