Will 2010 TDI's need Urea Injection ? ...

Hi,

I'm itching to get a TDI and wonder, with some of the new models coming out, if they will need urea injection. I'm torn between buying now or waiting for one of the spiffy new models. Thanks.

No. They'll use the same as the 09... DPF that regenerates...

NO.......The DPF is a bigger issue.

I had a feeling about that. I still want another diesel. I miss my 2002 Jetta.

Urea injection is being used to reduce NOX on heavier vehicles with larger engines; on lighter vehicles with smaller CR engines the required reductions can be met with EGR and a NOX storage catalyst unit. The DPF/oxidation catalyst unit is a separate issue, and will also be on Diesels which have urea injection.

I can't imagine anything "spiffier" than my 2009. I love it!

I was just thinking maybe an Audi A3, or Touareg 2 TDI, or ... Once I pull the trigger no more shopping.
