deisel is getting in the oil

hi I have 2 tdi golfs a 02 and 00 both 1.9s how could oil get fuel in it? just put new head and gasket im a pretty good mechanic and all new quality timing set the old belt was broke all is in time used the tool set

ALH's do not have much of an opportunity to get fuel into the oil, other than via the injectors.

Later PD cars have potential tandem pump or injector seal issues, but that is not the case with the ALH.

I would look at the injector balance #'s in VCDS group 13 to see if you have an injector with an issue.

How do you know that fuel is getting into the oil? Sniff test? Used oil analysis? Other?

At least with off road (red) diesel, the quickest easiest way to find fuel in the crank case is to drop a couple drops of oil from the dipstick onto clean white paper and fuel will quickly leach out away from the oil.

Does it start hard? Mechanical injectors that leak down usually seem to make harder smokier starts from fuel dripping past the metal to metal seal of the needle. But that's a severely worn injector
