Could any body explain the procedure for installing the flywheel bolts on my 2006 Jetta T.D.I. .The manual says to torque them down to 44 ft-pounds and then an additional 1/4 turn.Well thats where I am having trouble. If I was to go the complete 1/4, It seems like I would break the surated socket head bolts off.So I just torqued them to 70 ft-lbs. Where am I going wrong ? Thanks Mike

Just like it says. On TTY bolts I will torque them all with the torque wrench and then put a felt pen line on the head of each just before I do the additional turn. Helps me keep track so I don't do extra additional turns.

Almost forgot, TTY bolts are a one time use only.....................

Mike, you had to be real close to the 1/4 turn at 70 ft lbs...Like rattler said, mark them with a felt tip pen..

I usually will clean the snout's and start all the bolt, then hand tighten all of them then go to about 20 ft lbs, then click them off at 44ft lb, then 90 them..I will also criss-cross them all, back and forth..I am TOO anal..
