I have a 2012 VW jetta gli 2.0 turbo dohc 6 speed transmission. We've replaced ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel filter, had injectors cleaned, still runs rough. Engine light blinks a few seconds and then stays on. I haven't driven it in weeks because I dont want to mess it up! We buy only OEM parts. I've talked to people and they think it might be electrical, but it's a guess.

My advice: 1) find someone with a Ross-Tech VCDS dongle and get a good read on what the ECU is complaining about. That is an order of magnitude better than guessing.
2) This is a diesel forum. While people here like to help, admittedly most people's expertise will be in the are of compression ignition engines, hence the lack of response.

Intake ports gunked up would be my (very experienced with these) guess.
Very common, I do these a LOT.
You also have to check the crankcase breather valve. Those fail a LOT too.
