Ok, for those of you brew fanatics, we've carried on the tradition of having a beer swap social happening at fest this year. It will be taking place in the Triannon Foyer at the hotel on Saturday night from 7-9pm. Bring a unique or interesting beer of choice to share with friends! This is open to any and all members who want to join in. no preregistering necessary, just show up, brew in hand! :D

Speaking of beer, here in quebec we don't have a huge selection of beer.
We have most big north american brands but nothing out of the extraordinary.

Unibroue makes some outstanding beers.
There is also Dieu du Ciel, which I've not been able to find down here,
but I'm hoping it will be available in Montreal.

Don't understand your comment. If this is a thread for beer fanatics, why
wouldn''t we be talking microbrews? Victory is a microbrew.

At first I thought maybe you didn't mention Unibroue because they might
fall into the category of big North American breweries. They are certainly
widely available.

There is a good selection of imports available where I live.
Are you looking for any particular Peroni? I will bring some if I
can find it.

It's been a while since I've gone shopping at the SAQ specialty stores, but I seem to recall a very wide (and well chosen) selection of Belgian, French, German and British imports... but as I said, it's been a while... and since I like to age my strong ales, I rarely buy anything "new" unless it's something for which I've been searching... (found some Russian Imperial Stout down in Massachusetts last trip...)

If I can figure out what to bring, I'll put something in the car... (I think I'll keep my two small bottles of 1992 Courage Imperial Stout safely at home... :))

Yuri.

PS: Unibroue certainly makes some fine products!!!!

PPS: if you go to www.saq.com and do a search on "Biere" you'll find quite a substantial choice...
