I own a 2013 tdi dsg sportwagen
I know I need a 1" 3/4" draw bar for my hitch, but how do i know if i need a tall low or centered?
(Pics below for reference)
Does it all depend on the height of the trailer neck?

All depends on the height of the receiver, might have to buy a couple and size them up. I had to do that for Outback.

If you don't care if the trailer you are towing is level it doesn't matter. If you do care back the car up to the trailer and lift it until level and you can see if it needs to be higher, lower or straight.

For my 2014 JSW, I ended up with the Curt 45014 1.25” draw bar with 5” rise (the first one that you posted). My little utility trailer still rides a little nose down, but it should get closer to level if/when I do a lift with the JSW trailer springs. That 5” was the tallest bar that I could find, so I’m living with that...

I dont have the trailer yet, that's why I'm asking, otherwise i definitely would have just done that lol.
But yes my reason is because i want it level as possible, my hitch housing is 11" from the ground the trailer im looking at is about 16" from the ground i believe pic of trailer posted

According to the owners manual of my 2014 JSW TDI DSG, the car isn't supposed to tow anything.

It’s my understanding that the mk6 JSW DSG in North America has no tow rating, but the mk6 JSW DSG for Europe is rated like the mk6 JSW 6m. So it appears that the transmission can take it, but VW NA didn’t want take the chance with the DSG model. I think that there are members here that tow with their DSG cars with no reported problems. All that said, I knew that I wanted to tow, so I bought a manual shift with the “official” 2000# capacity.

Trailer tongue level height when loaded, say 11"
Hitch output reciever hole height with added trailer tongue weight, 50lbs +- say 6"

Diffferance of 5" or llift/rise of 5"

I installed an eco hitch mostly because it is a couple inches higher than the others, class 3 with 2" receiver.
