Interestingly, the amounts are slightly lower than what I calculating using September 2015 KBB. Weird.

The "vehicle value" for both of my Gen 1 cars is low by almost $1k.

Means a previous owner made a claim.
Yeah on some of mine are lower than I expected... do you know if I should call them about restitution? I got both cars from original owners AFTER 01/31/17 so their claims should not be valid

No clue - mine were low because the website doesn't match my version (Version H) of the NADA guide from September 2015.

I got the full restitution amount, but the vehicle value was low.

Just to add to the count, I went 2 for 2 on the previous owner not registering. My friend also got the full amount, so 3 for 3 here.

Previous owner filed, oh well. I am getting this though...

Do you currently either own or lease this vehicle? Yes
Which of the statements below most accurately describes the ownership or lease of this vehicle? I own this vehicle. There is no loan on this vehicle title.
Did you purchase this vehicle at the end of a lease from Volkswagen Credit, Inc., Audi Financial Services, or Porsche Financial Services? No
Please enter the date that you purchased or began leasing the vehicle: 10/06/2016

We are making payments on the car. I went back to edit it and no dice. I would guess if the CSR at the 844 number was as well informed as the 2.0 deal then I would be wasting my time.

Thoughts? I'm going to hit submit anyway...

EDIT: Later it appeared to ask is their is any leans other than the original purchase loan.

How can you tell if previous owners claimed?

When you get to final page with how much you are getting, you SHOULD see something around $10K for restitution. If you are seeing $5000, on the bottom it will say that it is because previous owner filed.

HOWEVER, it states that IF previous owner's claim is not valid, VW will pay you the difference later.

One other friend registered and had to share the restitution. So 3/4 didn't register on the cars I personally know of.

I am 4/8 on cars that I know of which actually sucks. However, I am hoping 1 or 2 will get denied.

With the 2-liter settlement, the period for Eligible Sellers to file their claims ended on 9/16/16 (give or take a couple of days), but it wasn't until mid-November that we post-9/18/15 buyers saw adjusted restitution amounts in the system. It may not have taken the claims folks that whole time to vet the Sellers' claims, but I'd guess it was a good bit of it. I expect it may be another month or more before hard numbers are in place for those VINs for which a Former Owner claim was filed.

Looks like the claiming rate is no higher than that of the 2.0Ls.
I don't think we know what the actual rate was, but 44% of the Eligible Sellers' pool was claimed under that settlement. If that pool was exactly enough to compensate all the Eligible Sellers in existence (which is a big assumption, but I believe that was the intent), then it should suggest that pretty close to 44% of the Eligible Sellers filed claims.

There are a number of differences in the 3-liter settlement, including the possibility of more than one Eligible Former Owner, and the fact that Former Owners had more time to submit their claims. I would have expected that to result in a higher proportion of them filing claims. But based on the very small sample represented in this thread, that doesn't seem to be the case.

On those 1 or 2, when you bought the cars, how aware were the sellers of the settlement process? What was the information gap between you and them? Do you think they filed after the fact when they realized they had lost $?

Nobody answered so I will try again. Does bosch send a check like the 2.0's or is that included in the offer we got here today for the 3.0? Should we expect $1500 more then offer today or its already in there?

Bosch will send a separate check, so if the previous owner of your car did not register (or there isn't a previous owner), you will receive a $1,500 check in the mail from Bosch once your claim is approved by VW. You will get a check for $750 if there was a previous owner associated with your VIN.

One of the cars I got from original owner after 1/31/17 so unless he forged documents, it should be denied.

Another car was traded in to a dealer after the fact, so again, unless they forge documents, should get denied. UNLESS it was traded in earlier and carfax is wrong.

Another car I have had a previous owner until 2016 then sold to 3rd owner and then sold to me, so it had a high chance of claim.

In any case, all of my calculations were more or less spot on (i used lowest amount in chart) so I am happy camper today and will eat a nice steak dinner tomorrow :)

You will get another check later on from Bosch. It is NOT part of the portal amounts

Copying from another thread:

"90814 look ups 62500 registrations.

'This is quite similar to the participation level that we were seeing at the same point in the 2-liter settlement approval cycle', according to Ms. Cabraser.[/I]

Can we expect similar former owner registration rate as that of the 2.0L program?"

The thing is, people who sold their cars after 9/18/2015 are equally oblivious of the whole process or simply don't care, not much a difference between the 3.0Ls and 2.0Ls.

Yes, my FO traded/sold to Audi dealer before 2017. I guess I asked because there's a meme out there that people are tricking little old ladies out of $ by not disclosing settlement details.

I made the same mistake. So I called and spoke with a claims agent today. As long as you uploaded the side with the picture and the lettering is legible, they will accept one side of a driver's license.

I could only upload one side of my DR license. Supposed to be both sides.

Otherwise all done.

PS Seems all is figured out. Don't expect too much of delay starting July.

My Audi salesman called me to let me know that the portal was open. :)

The remediation company that handles the buyback at the dealership (for those of you that don't know...it is not a VW/Audi/Porshe employee that facilitates the process) starts next Tuesday. That seems a little quick, but maybe they want to move faster with the 3.0's.

Yay, I just uploaded the side with the picture and got an email saying the following for my Q7:

"We have reviewed all of your documents. Currently, your application contains all the necessary documentation to determine your eligibility. We are now determining your eligibility and will inform you whether you are eligible to participate in the Settlement Claims Program and, if applicable, will provide you with a final offer."

Super fast process. Like I said it myself(and I have always been on point;)): it SHOULD NOT take long to get this thing rolling. All we need to do now is just wait for the offer letter to arrive.:p

I now predict the offer will arrive very soon at least for those cars without a registered former owner, and we can pick the earliest date in July or sooner to turn it in.

Because there were not many audi A3 TDIs to process to start with, and all the ambassadors are sitting there idle and watching porns all day long:)

I'm a little confused here. Do you guys all have gen 1 cars? I thought for the gen 2 cars we have to wait to see if they get an approved fix, and the buybacks would only happen if they didn't?

What is the latest date that we can turn in our Gen 1 q7?

I have both. The Gen 2 cars currently only display the repair amount, not the potential buyback (as that is only triggered if there is no fix - fingers tightly crossed).

You'll get half of the repair restitution when you file the claim now, the other half when taking the car for the fix if a CERTIFIED repair is approved. If there is no approved CERTIFIED fix, there'll be a buyback option, just like the gen 1 cars. The resititution will basically double in that case.

Does anyone know when we can expect the Bosch $1500 claim? Is that after a certified repair is done?
