i tried a search. maybe i just missed it. but whats out there for a aftermarket cam for a 2000 jetta. and what kinda money are they.

cool. thanks.

hmm since its time to do a timing belt in my new to me jetta. i may just add a cam swap to the long list of things to do when i do the TB. i mean hey they have cam issues right soo i gotta change it.;)

your ALH is not known for cam issues at all... only the newer 2004+ had those issues

hmm i guess i read wrong. i thought i had seen many threads about cam failures in almost all of the newer cars 99-up. darn now i can't use that as a exuse to the wife why i need to get one. :( lol

No, only 2004 and up...2004 and 2005 had the BEW PD engines and the 2005.5-2006 had the BRM PD engines. The PD's are pretty much the only ones that have known cam issues.
