Has anyone had luck with simply changing out the N215 solenoid valve in the mechatronic with the tranny still in the car? I assume that you can't assume that the solenoid valve would be the only thing that could be what causes this, i.e. anything else in that circuit that would cause a short.
I'm trying to find the path of least cost and labor before committing to replacing the entire mechatronic.
18223 - Pressure Control Valve 1 (N215)
P1815 - 008 - Short to Plus - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10101000
Fault Priority: 0
Fault Frequency: 255
Reset counter: 40
Mileage: 385270 km
Time Indication: 0
There is another fault code in the TCM for this:
00194 - Ignition Key Removal Lock
008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
I went looking for the key lock solenoid and it is not in the ignition lock anymore. It must have been giving a previous owner some grief.
I don't think that these two would cross paths but don't have a wiring diagram for DSG (thanks Bentley!)
