I went with PD150/R783 combo. I have a 17/22, kerma 3" exhaust, pd150 intake and race pipe, TDtuning stg 3. My fuel economy has been pretty consistent at mid-high 40s. The exhaust made the biggest difference, I gained an average of 3mpg with that.
Theoretically it should improve, the larger injector allows the fuel to be injected all in at the optimum time during the combustion event.
One reason chipped cars smoke with stock injectors is some fuel is still being injected after the piston is traveling down. Ideally it would all be injected near TDC.
I have a set of PD150 injectors, but have not installed them yet.
VW used a smaller injector to reduce cylinder pressure, this helps with NOX emissions.
