Just installed the CAT fuel filter I purchased from:

Greg Landuyt
Lubrication Specialist, LLC.1
(317) 326-4296

on my '06 NB. Thought someone else may want to do this also.

Everything went in fine with the exception of the bracket that holds the plastic 'T' to the top of the filter cap. I adapted the bracket to work in this case but it really needs a permanent fix. I sent Greg an email and perhaps he'll design one for this application.

Why didn't the included thermostatic tee bracket work in your NB? I was just under the hood of my NB last weekend and was thinking about the Cat 2u filter fitting in there... perhaps some pictures of your installation would help.

Scurvy, there was no included 'T' bracket. Was there supposed to be one? I emailed Greg about the problem but he did not mention anything about a replacement 'T' bracket. That's all it would take to make the installation a slam dunk.

Would you happen to know if a replacemnt 'T' is available?

Really? You mean the silver bracket holding in my thermostatic tee wasn't included in yours?

Pretty sure that's supposed to be there, unless the kits for the NB differ somehow... so, I dunno. I mean, that new bracket plus the chamfer on the hole for that tee fitting is what has changed for the "new" kit.

Sorry, my mistake. The silver bracket was included. I was thinking you meant a 'T' itself, one smaller than the stock one. I had to bend the bracket back to install the 'T' and then rebend it so it will cover the top of the 'T' and hold it in. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow.

The fuel filter is pretty well hidden but you see from these pics what it looks like in the '06 NB.

I have to move that one clamp up where it belongs. It's very difficult to get to the bracket screws...rotating the 'T' does not expose them. I removed the 'T', screwed the bracket down, bent the top of the bracket back, installed the 'T' and rebent the bracket. Oughta be a better way.
