De-greaser

As a result of a leaking cam seal (since fixed) I have a build up of gunk on the bottom 1/8 of my intercooler. What can i use to safely remove this build up?

Try paint thinner for oil-based paints like Varsol* or Recordsol. Tat's what I'm using.
