What are good aftermarket oil filters (not intended for TDI)

Can anyone recommend an brand of aftermarker oil filter that is above average in quality and fuction? This would be for the other cars. The TDI will, in the absence of anything else,be VW when needed. I've noticed the thread on Fram.
