Hi I finally have a running car abeit a tbc centre section exhaust.

Here is the steps I have taken with poor results regarding boost.

  • Set stop screw to 1.75 mm vane gap
  • Extended actuator bracket to fit bmn electric vacuum variety
  • Set actuator to crack on 5hg/mm and fully open at 17.5 hg/mm
Car only boosts in 3rd and 4th short of 3000 rpm rises slowly then sort of spikes at over a bar of boost.

Map is 2.2 bar but eventually going to increase to 2.5 bar.

On idle vacuum sucks in but this is vane opening position. Is this correct or does actuator have to push to close postion/stopscrew?

I guess I have to shorten the actuator rod to increase boost. Do I set the stopscrew with vcds channel 11 for the 80mBar n75 at 1400 rpm?

So close but need to fine tune.

Just been on another test after vcds check

mBAR difference is idle 963 to 1051 at 1400 rpm

Cam inlet 2.23 advanced exhaust set so 0.7l/h

Boost doesnt show till 3000 rpm then as I rev 0.5 bar shows the spikes 1 bar at 4000 rpm but this gets dumped.

What is wrong?

Horray Results

I Have boost and smooth power. I envy this 2260vk

Boosting 1.5 bar at the minute but its not holding, but it's a step forward.

I run a mk6 actuator on the Turbo piggy backed to a mk5 on a bracket on the bulk head.

I guess to adjust boost, I'd have to make a Dummy pivot for the rod, therefore the ecu will recognise the mk5 actuator setting?

So much smoother and responsive than my crappy hybrid 1756.

#5 meth injector in place and delivering well. EGT is now stable, never above 550 degrees c.

Just have to plumb the exhaust pressure fittings in and fit an ordered air filter to turbo silicon hose

Happy to help others with the ppd170 2260vk

UPDATE;

Alot of messing about after a failed mot, I am there!

My fake DPF never convinced the main dealer tester as it wasn't the factory original. Well I explained I had a different turbo and it is nearly impossible to mount the standard DPF!

Trust me it can be done, now I have a healthy 12 months. 3" going back on tomorrow.

Running 2.5 bar with meth in at 1.9 bar. MK6 actuator set to19. 5 hg/mm which gives strong boost. Cams adjusted to 1-1.5 degree inlet and exhaust set to 0.6 l/h.

Piccys in 2260vk ppd300 bost. Not been easy but happy with my results.

Dyno time next at JBS Chesterfield.
