Seems to me there's no point to having more power if your clutch slips. Defeats the whole purpose IMO.

On bushings, I've got good condition stock OEMs. My guru's take is that you need a certain amount of compliance to help with ride and grip. It's also why I run 16" rims. The Generals I've got have soft sidewalls. Hard into the corner there is a bit of body lean, but then
the stiffer suspension I'm running kicks in, and the tires are flat on
tarmac.

Mine's a daily driver and my goal is the GT style car. High speed comfort, it's a great highway cruiser, not necessarily the best setup
for an autocross or track car.

My $.02 FWIW.

On my 2001 I had a little over 200k miles before I replaced the clutch. The second 100k miles was with a Stage 3 tune, and I never had any slippage. Granted I did not beat up on the clutch on a regular basis either. The starter had eaten up the ring gear and the timing was right to upgrade the clutch for the long haul. FYI, when the clutch and pressure plate came out, they were dead-flat and there was still quite a bit of friction material left.
