Tdi Fest 2012 Gvrd.. Wanna lend a hand? Interested in making it a reality?

I am trying to put a proposal together for hosting Tdi fest 2012 in the Gvrd area it is still in the early stages but could be a possibility for 2012 or possibly 2013.
I need 5-7 able bodied reliable people who are willing to put in some time and effort forth to make this happen. This would include emails, monthly meetings, etc... Here is a basic idea of what needs to be done
http://forums.tdiclub.com/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=2163982
Pm me if you are interested or text call me if you have my number. Looking for someone who is going to be reliable, and dedicated.
I must stress that this is a Canadian site that has its roots in the G.r.v.d it would be nice to see a home town tdifest. :D
Also need someone with Tdifest experience so someone who has attended past fest's.

We will send you Zippy from our Northern California chapter. She's great at everything.

Umm I think there's some sort of extradition treaty in place between Canada and the US that prohibits Shalon from crossing the border unless escorted by US Marshalls! LOL!

Joe, you know I'm interested. Perhaps we could grab a coffee and discuss? Easier than pm/posting/texting or any other way of communicating ;)

Cheers,
-Chris

PS Considering the number of TDIs sold in canada (and BC especially), how is it that it is so frickin' hard to get the area well represented on here? I appreciated the effort that you and especially Ed have put in on this front!!

Hey Joe, just a suggestion but maybe you should look into the Lngley Events Center on 200th st as a possible venue. Sounds like it was perfect for the Great Canadian VW Show this year.

only complaints I heard about that location was parking for non-show cars. But then... there were two other events happening there that day, so attendee parking was pretty crazy.

lots of TDI's here but enthusiasts are much fewer, and in the grand scheme of things MV is not all that central.

Tell me, I was at the Portland TDI fest. It was good but not great IMO. Was the turn out at Portland similar for most TDI fests?

A whole month and no volunteers....
What is with this city and support for tdi... Is it because we have already a local vw scene...aka dubberz that takes away from tdi club?

I'm in, I just haven't had a chance to get together with ya. Not having a useable car is getting to be a bit of a pain in the butt. I should be able to sit down with you in a couple of weeks. Having said that, I don't think 2 people are gonna be enough to make this happen. Like mentioned above, are we just too far away to get good attendance numbers?

I don't think dubbers has anything to do with the lack of support for TDIs in the lower mainland. After all, how many TDIers are on that forum? Not many I'd expect.
