I just registered for TDIfest.

I'm planning to bring several GMRS/FRS "bubble pack" 2-way radios for my G/F and I to use during 'fest activities. These are Motorola TalkAbout 2-way radios that come packaged in a bubble pack. I was thinking this sort of thing might be useful for other TDIers to keep in touch during caravaning to the 'fest and during fest activities.

I will have 2 spare radios available for TDIfest activities. I'm planning to be on channel 7, code 25 (462.7125MHz, CTCSS tone 156.7Hz).

Anybody else planning to have 2-way radio communications at TDIfest? Bring your GMRS/FRS "bubble pack" radios!

If you have iPhones, Heytell is a great two way radio app.
I have Heytell on my Android phone (htc Inspire) and like it. I've used it a lot with a friend of mine. However, it's not in real-time like a real 2-way radio is and that greatly slows down chit-chatting back and forth. It's a bit kludgey as 2-way radio app but it works.

I plan to have my phone with me too.

I've been using Tikl on my Android... seems to work pretty well for two-way communication as long as there is cell service.
