Hello, I want your opinions on what is currently the best turbo for the 1.9 tdi pd? Taking into account that it is expected to take near 400HP without nitro...
So I would like your opinions and knowledge, for example:
Garrett GT2260V starts at 2500rpm has power up to 5000rpm
making a pressure of 2.0 bar ... this is an example ...
because I am a long time away from the cars, but that to come back ... in my time I used the GT2359V from the mercedes and was a good turbo, but it was in 2006/2007 now the turbos have evolved a lot, we already have the VK and VKLR geometries ...
Help me choose the best ...

Garrett GT2359V
Garrett GTB2260VK
Garrett GTB2260VKLR (Ball Bearing Turbo)
Garrett GTB2566VK
Borge Wagner S356
Garrett GTB3576KLNRV
Other??? Which one??

PS:
The car I cause will be a Seat Leon FR (ARL engine) 150cv is a European model, which is a bit heavy, it is not a light car... Have a 1376kg (I think, but it needs to be confirmed)
Thanks

GTX is not a VNT turbo.... Which rpm would it have turbo? too late ..... I think ....
Here in Portugal we have an PD engine (in a golf chassis) that makes 9.63s (is european diesel record) :D
But the turbo he uses is in the secret of the gods ... ahahah :D;)

Original turbo is with 44.5 or 47mm compressor wheel.

EFR Billet Wheel size is 52/70mm and is good up to 56 lb/min!!!

Basically you need turbo that supports high pressure ratio with good flow. You need around 45lb/min airflow to reach 400hp with PR 4.5, that means about 3.5bar boost.
To be honest there are not that many good options out there for that. Like Yucca said EFR/SX-E 52.2/70 has quite good map up to PR5.

Mfs stands for machined from solid, its the same as billet. Efr is borgwarners brand for hi-tech racing turbos

Starting to believe that biturbo is the best way to go if you have the money and knowledge , Fins are working on it i heard, we'll see how it goes.

well I am a little bit confused why it has not been more explored, most challenging is to find information on combos but even physical placement can give you headache depending of choice. of some reason we have very little information on R2s/R3s or Garrett equivalent in sticky: turbo technical database here on tdi club

It is much easier to brake 400bhp barrier with single turbo. Look what Darkside do with Arosa, no compound setup.

we had 400hp+ with compound setup but it was a PITA and not required for drag racing

may I ask if you have been driven a BMW 535d and 550d?
what did you think about response from bottom?
do you have the same response for your high hp car?

There are not that many 600+hp beemers here, so I don't think so. Somewhat I feel that there will be lack of transient response on lower revs also at that tune level.

No and no.

I was talking max hp only, not response etc.

Sure sequential or compound turbo setup have very nice responce. Those setups are also too hard to build by beginners.
