Transmission Cross Ref. from one to another

Hi,
i mostly work on old BMW 2002's but a customer has a Jetta TDI,
1998, with a blown trans. what other models of TDI and years will
transfer from other cars to the Jetta. or who rebuilds the trans'
complete, on the east coast.

Hmmm...

The newer body style trans in the A4s (1999.5 to 2004) will interchange, but the final drives are lower in the A4's due to the larger tire diameter. You could make a hybrid from your customer's final drive and another A4 TDI transmission.

Any other suggenstions out there?
