should have around 40 or 39,5mm turbine exducer.. good for 220-230hp max, spools around 1800-2000rpm on stock 1.9 tdi

Does anyone have specs on the gtc1444vz? Found on volvo D3 engine, its a 2 liter R5 engine producing 120kW, makes 400Nm at 1400rpm. I drove one today and its a pleasure of an engine.. Could be a good turbo for HP in a sequential arrangement or for a 1.4tdi as single.. comes vacuum operated (on the first sight, turbo is behind the engine and hard to see).. until now I couldn't find a original dump of such a car to see what boost it is making..

Comp: 31x44, A/R .44
Turbine: 39x33, A/R .74

Anyone already seen this vgt setup? OEM wise it does 1.8bar from 1400 till 2750 rpm, 2 liter displacement.. I reckon 120kw for such a small compressor is quite impressive, but just as all oem's are doing these days, volvo also calibrated the fulload the the border of the compressormap, as it's starts derating from 975mbar Patm on.. also notice the some kind of anti surge housing/shroud thats turned away at the inducer of the wheel..

imo the perfect HP or single for a 1.2/1.4l R3

At what sort of price can these GTC1444VZ turbos be obtained? I was looking at the GTB1446V on the 120ps 1.6 JTDm engine, but this seems even better...

I have an update for the MHI TFO35HL6b-13TB/VG.

There are three compressor config's.

a) SuperBack 6 blades, Exducer: 49mm, inducer: 37,8mm, tip height: 4.15mm, Trim: 60
b) SuperBack 6 blades, Exducer: 51mm, inducer: 38,25mm, tip height: 4.25mm, Trim: 56
c) SuperBack 6 blades, Exducer: 51mm, inducer: 38,3mm, tip height: 3.7mm, Trim: 56

And 1 turbine config:

a) 12 blades, exducer: 42,50mm, inducer: 35mm, trim 68.

..this has been received directly from Mitsubishi.

Hm..Dave, I have data from about 5.000 turbos, it would take me days or even weeks to post them all up. Rather ask me for specific turbo and I can see if I have it in my list. (Most very new turbos are not listed yet)

You may have recognized that I am not online very often since a few month, this is due to my new turbo workshop which keeps me very, very busy...

Nice you hear you have a turbo shop from your own, you might be able to source a EFR7064 internally gated housing, IIRC it would be the .92?

Earlier in thread are some specs off a gtb1752 renault. And t5 vw seem to be comp inducer 38.6mm exducer 52mm and turbine inducer 43mm and exducer 39.5mm.
Should be similar?

GTB1752V from volvo 2.4D 129kW (175HP) Euro5, D5244T14, Production year 2010-

Used in Volvo XC60, V70, XC90, S80...
It is very rare, but looks very nice, no funny flanges, small...
flanges seem to be identical to D3 turbo, but this one seems elec actuated versus vacuum on the D3 one..

would also be interested to see the wheel dimensions on the 22xhp version of the newer D5 engines like found in the s60 etc

correction, it seems the new high power d5 have twin turbos :/

I guess you would need to cross section the CHRAs to evaluate the eventual differences in CHRA design for roller bearing vs conventional bearing.

Second hassle is the balancing. Currently available aftermarket VSR balancing rigs are not capable of balancing BB cartridges to OEM (or better) spec :-(

I would like to see a GTC1549VZ (from CR170 - 03L 145 721B) with a BB CHRA from a GTB1749VRK used in the 340 HP 4.2 V8 TDI sold as a replacement kit. :)
Wouldn't the GTB spool fast enough and then have some more headroom on the turbine side compared to the GTC? Anyone got an idea of lbs/min and PR these newer 49mm compressor wheels can deliver?

There are not "worlds" of differences to the "old" 150hp GT1749VB compressor wheel, BUT the VC 49mm compressor is a little beefier and has a deep superback design instead of normal superback which increases the max. rpm capability before burst.

If both turbochargers support 170 HP in stock form, why don't you think it's sufficient to be worth the effort except for a 1.2 TDI? It would easily cover 90% by volume of the replacement turbocharger market's needs if looked at through the context of an OE or mild performance upgrade with none of the low-speed surge risks of a >=52mm wheel with super fast spool and excellent EMP:IMP ratio. I would choose one of these over a 17/22 (GT1752) or 1756 any day. Besides, I want one. :D

Edit: @Alex, what are the trims of the older PD170 GT1749VC and of the GTC1549VZ? I think both are 55? What about the 1749VRK used in the 4.2 V8?
