EGR Valve leak (?)

So I recently did some engine cleaning on my 99 MK4 Jetta and after a few days and while checking other things under the hood, I noticed some oil around the EGR valve and on the valve cover area. Can anyone tell me if it's normal for EGR valve to have oil leak or vent out the hole (yellow arrow) on the front of the valve?? Not sure I noticed this before cleaning the engine bay to be honest.
thank you guys!

Yes, pretty normal, I guess that's what that little hole is for. You should see the inside.

Keep an eye on it. There's a seal back there, it eventually fails, and when it does that little oil leak becomes a fairly nasty mess (more carbon that oil, but some of both) sprayed on the engine.

It's not dangerous but once that starts happening you want to think about replacing it.
