Where\'s the squeak? and how to solve?

2000 Jetta, 95,000 Squeak is coming from the front passenger area. Bouncing the car up and down it seems to be from the strut. When struts go bad do they squeak? Could it be anything else? Only seems to squeak when the suspension is working. Thanks alot, Cody

your oem strut last only 40,000 miles. if you haven't replaced them is about time. oem are not gas filled strut. I just did mine. it makes a lot od different. you go from there. while replacing your strut you might find something else. good luck

i found a squeek in my front end too. Turned out to be a sway bar bushing, lubed it up and it went away. Mine would only happen when hitting an abrupt bump like train tracks.

There is a ball bearing at the top of the strut tower that sometimes squeaks ... just another thing for you check out.

Sway-bar bushings here as well...Lube or replace. Takes about the same amount of effort.
