Is this a VW product or custom?

I`ve had this 98 Jetta TDI for 4 yrs now. It has leather seats with TDI embroidered on them. All this time I`ve figured it was produced that way, but now I realize that I havn`t seen any other TDI with this embroidered "TDI" pictures of my car below. Is this something the previous owner did or did VW produce the TDI embroider?

aftermarket leather covers.

Just Cushion and springs under leather. Hard to figure it`s a leather cover. I think it`s stock leather/leatherete? seats and somebody talented, later embroidered the tdi on them. Front and back are all leather, it doesn`t look like aftermarket covers because it`s vey thick and a small crack on outer edge of drivers seat I can visualize seat stuffing. Bought the car for $5500 at buy here/pay here place in Port Charlotte, Fl.It had 65,000 miles on it. It has 122,000 miles on it now and never gave me a trouble until recent IP leak. Thanks to ulsd....

Nice car!! And you got a great deal on it IMO. I've never seen those seats before, but they look good.
