2013 Passat gen 2 fix issue

I took my in for the fix last week. Got a call from the dealership that the fix could not be done and that I would be getting a letter from VW when the fix would be available for my car. I was told that mine was one of 200 cars that had a different software and after much conversation they had with various VW people it was determined that my car fell into this 200 car group. Has anyone else had this problem. I tend to believe the dealership since they really have no reason to be telling me something that is not true on this issue.

If it's the same mechanically, the the fix is known good . . . they just have to roll a version of your SW with it included. Should be no big deal . . .

Automatic or manual?
