I bought the wagon at 247000 miles, it now has 272000 miles. I love it. It was maintained all its life by one VW dealer, who cannot find anything in their records about replacing shock absorbers. I am assuming that the shocks will n need replacement soon.
I am not looking to lower the car or anything like that, just want a nice handling car for hauling family stuff and going on long road trips. Shocks for use with stock springs. Would appreciate advise from forum members. Thanks.

There are just too many to list....
Both my B5s roll with Billy HDs. They fit perfect and hold up well. They are quite a bit stiffer than the stock ones, but these left the factory with too squishy of a ride for my taste anyway. The FWD Audi A4 with the sport suspension has a much better feel from the factory, and the HDs make the Passat closer to that.
