I have a new to me 2015 Passat 2.0L diesel Owners manual states 507.00 oil. I also have a 2005 Passat 2.0L PD BHW engine using 505.1 oil. Can I use the 507.00 in the 505.01 older Passat???? PD has cam to injectors contact, requiring better quality oil. Thanks for your help. Lloyd

What I know of PD engines is gained only from my reading in this forum, but that little says that they should have a 5W-40 oil due to the cam issue you describe, so— no 507.00 oils, which are strictly 30 weight.

There are just too many to list....
Two different engines, sharing virtually no parts, with two very different oil requirements. So no, there really is no oil that would be suitable in both.

nope, the PD engines require the older high SAPS 5w40 oil, and I add a can of Lubro molly mos2 as well. That's how I scored my old Jetta, lady had Jiffy lube change the oil and it ate a cam within 75K Fun car to rebuild though, learned a lot and I made $5K on the entire ordeal
