I'm wondering what could cause a coolant smell in the engine bay of my car.
The reason I ask is that it has almost always been there even with over 85,000 miles on my PD Jetta...
I've never had any coolant loss in that many miles, no traceable coolant leaks anywhere, and no change on the level meter on the coolant resevoir. I've looked around at the EGR cooler also, and can find no visible leaks. If the engine was conuming coolant through/after the EGR cooler, I'd think I'd notice a drop in the coolant resevoir...
I notice it most when I've been driving for awhile, and then after popping the hood when the engine is warm.
Does anyone else with a PD experience this?
