Need Help with Clutch Problem!

Hello All--
I bought my 2005 TDI a year ago and love it, no major problems. But driving up to Boston I noticed the clutch was very loose, and didn't engage until about 2/3 of the way down. Freaked out, I pulled into the next exit, and while driving around looking for a gas station it, for lack of a better word, got better. But it gets all loose again when driving on the highway. Is this just a fluids problem, maybe a leak, or a sign of bad things to come? Any help / suggestions greatly appreciated...

Try bleeding the clutch slave cylinder. It may have air in it. Is the brake fluid level OK? (The clutch gets its fluid supply from the brake fluid reservoire).
