No, not homemade (at least not by me!), got it at www.flameball.com. It took some to get it installed including sawing off about 1.25" of my gear shifter. Throw is a lot faster now!! Also, needed to pull power all the way back to the fuse box so it only goes on with the lights. My 1st thought was to pull from the cigarette lighter where there is a small light that illuminates through a red-tinged plastic piece in the ashtray, but that only is 4.5V and the flameball needs 12v. I kinda liked it, the red fits in with the dash and I hated the lame stock shift knob.

you know, I actually kinda think the knob is neat.... Of course I've got a silica-bronze doorknob circa 1900 that I'll be using as a shiftknob.... Its got great weight and feels great in your hand. Plus the patina is beautiful.
